How to convert tablespoons to grams
This calculation crosses from volume to mass, so it needs an ingredient reference. The calculator starts with all-purpose flour at 120 grams per US reference cup (spoon into the cup and level; do not pack). Choose the exact ingredient and form your recipe means before using the answer.
For a weight input, convert to grams, divide by the ingredient's grams per reference cup, then adjust for the selected cup or spoon volume. For a volume input, reverse the process. The answer is a recipe equivalent, not a laboratory density measurement, so brand, moisture, packing and measuring technique can all change the practical result.
Choose the measurement your recipe means
The default cup is US customary at 236.5882365 ml. Metric and Australian cups use 250 ml. A metric tablespoon is 15 ml; an Australian tablespoon is 20 ml. Fluid ounces, pints, quarts and gallons in this interface stay US liquid units whichever cup system you select.
For dry ingredients, check whether the recipe asks for a packed, sifted, chopped or level measure. Use the same preparation as the reference, and prefer the recipe author's gram quantities when they are given.
