There is no single 100-gram cup value

A cup describes space, not weight. This page compares the same 100-gram amount across every supported ingredient and keeps the selected ingredient visible beside the result. Honey, oats and flour occupy very different volumes at 100 grams.

Work it out from the reference

Divide 100 by the grams in one cup of your ingredient. For the default flour reference, the calculation is 100 ÷ 120 = 0.8333 US cups. Keep the unrounded result while calculating and round only what you display.

Metric and Australian cups hold 250 ml instead of 236.5882365 ml, so switching the cup system gives a slightly smaller number of cups for the same weight.

Measure the portion you need

A scale can weigh 100 grams directly, which is the most reliable option. If you are using cups, the decimal is an estimate based on the selected reference; the kitchen fraction in the table is marked as approximate whenever it is not exact.

A few useful answers

Kitchen questions, answered.

Is 100 grams the same for every ingredient?

No. 100 grams of all-purpose flour is about 0.83 US cups, while the same weight of a denser ingredient such as honey fills far less of a cup. Always convert with the ingredient your recipe names.

Does 100 g mean 100 ml?

No. Grams measure mass and millilitres measure volume. They are only numerically close for an ingredient whose density is near 1 gram per millilitre, such as water.

Can I change 100 grams to another amount?

Yes. Edit the amount in the calculator; the ingredient comparison table below stays fixed at 100 grams as a reference.
